Demand for places is high and parents are advised to apply early. You will then be contacted on a first come first served basis as soon as a place becomes available. Only when a place is available will you be offered a trial.
Entrance Criteria
Prior to becoming a Marlins member, we offer a free trial session where swimmers are invited along to demonstrate their capability.
Please do not just turn up for a trial as you need to have been invited first.
If you just turn up the poolside staff will turn you away.
At the trial they will be asked to show that they can:
- Swim 25m backstroke
- Swim 25m breaststroke
- Complete a forward roll
- Demonstrate a kneeling dive off the pool edge in the deep end competently.
- Swim 3 x 25m front crawl: 1 easy pace / 1 moderate pace / 1 fast pace
Trials
Trials are held regularly and you are asked to contact the club directly via the membership email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call us to arrange a suitable date. The membership number is 01737 400 162. These trials are held on at each venue by prior arrangement between 7:00pm and 8:00pm.
Please come along with swimming trunks/goggles and a towel and we will assess the swimmer's ability. During the trial, swimmers will be asked to swim some of the following strokes:
- Front crawl
- Backstroke
- Breaststroke
- Butterfly (basic only)
Accepted swimmers will then be placed in the appropriate training group for their ability and development.
Applicants are then required to return a completed APPLICATION FORM to the club. Once accepted, membership and training fees will become due. These fees are payable monthly by standing order.
Club Fees
There is a one off joining fee of £25.00 followed by a £25 per month subscription.
The one off fee covers all Swim England and administration costs and the supply of your Marlins swimming hat.
